Poll Moussoulides is one of Europe’s most sought after Vocal Communication and Personal Performance Specialists. Over the last 25 years his skills have been employed to help thousands improve and optimise their vocal and physical habits, and feel more confident about how others perceive them.
Whether his clients have been internationally acclaimed Actors, Barristers, Sales Teams, Team Leaders, Call-Centres, Teachers, Television & Radio Presenters, Government Ministers, Coaches, Consultants, Olympians, Solo Entrepreneurs or Chief Executives of international corporations, all have worked with Poll to give themselves the dynamic edge that leads to enduring communication success.
Since 1991, he has coached over 150 Journalists, Reporters, Newsreaders and Presenters from Current Affairs, News, Sport, Young Peoples, Entertainment and Lifestyle Radio and T.V Programmes. His clients have been seen and heard on RTE, TV3, BBC, UTV, TG4, Newstalk, Today FM, Sky Sports and CNN. At the Irish Management Institute he regularly delivered vital components to communication and leadership courses from 1992-2008. Later he became an Associate Faculty Specialist at the Edinburgh Institute of Leadership & Management Practice, and now speaks regularly at the Smurfit Business School, Dublin. In 2010 he joined the team of experts that deliver modules on the High Performance Leadership program at top ranked IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.
By adapting the principles of Actor training, Poll has created a practical and wholly attainable method for all voice users to communicate with greater physical confidence and vocal expertise. In 2019/20 his company ‘Voice Matters International’, will create and facilitate in-house training programs throughout Ireland, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. Clients have included individuals and teams from IBM, O2, Microsoft, Dept. of Finance, Johnson & Johnson, Irish Life, Equality Authority, KPMG, Allied Irish Bank, Pfizer, AXA, Grant Thornton, Aegon, An Garda Síochána, Vodafone, Ernst & Young, AOL, Zurich, RBS, Yahoo, Fidelity, State Street, Google, Tourism Ireland, IMG and Ogilvy.
Born in Dublin, Poll left Ireland to train at the University of Kent at Canterbury and Eastern Michigan University. After receiving his degree he returned in 1986 to become Head of Voice at the Gaiety School of Acting (now the National Theatre School of Ireland). From 1989-1992 he was Assistant Director to the School’s Director, Joe Dowling, and later that year he also was appointed Head of Voice at the Samuel Beckett Centre in Trinity College Dublin. He has been Voice Coach in all of the country's major Theatres and several in the UK, and has coached thousands of Actors, from absolute beginners to multi Oscar® award winners on over 56 Films and TV series (Jared Leto, Mia Farrow, Whoopi Goldberg, Robbie Coltrane, Anna Friel, Jon Voight, Pierce Brosnan, Roger Daltry, Andrea Corr, Joss Stone, Elijah Wood, Diane Wiest, Richard Dreyfus, Brendan Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Sheila Hancock, Kim Catrall, Gabriel Byrne, James Nesbitt, Angela Lansbury, Maisie Williams, Martin Sheen..) It was a particular honour when Poll was invited as a guest Speaker to the Royal Shakespeare Company’s symposium “Theatre Voice”.
Poll founded the Irish Voice Association in 2006 and is also a founding member of the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA). He has appeared on many TV & Radio shows as a Vocal Communications Consultant and was recently described as “the executive’s secret weapon to communication mastery”. Constantly upgrading his skills since his degree, Poll has trained in Tai Chi, Video Production and Alexander Technique. He has a Master qualification in NLP, is an accredited Emotional Intelligence Assessor and a research based Body Language Consultant – all vitally combining towards his unrivalled record of helping others achieve excellence whenever they stand to speak. Poll is in the final stages of writing two books (on vocal fitness and the voice of leadership in business), both to be published soon.
